Job summary

The State of Florida, Department of Children and Families in Clearwater, seeks a seasoned Child Protective Investigator Supervisor - SES to lead a team of investigators and support staff in protecting children.

You will coach, train, and evaluate performance, manage workloads and deadlines, and ensure investigations meet legal standards while coordinating with families, law enforcement, and community partners. This role requires night/weekend work and the ability to engage diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (social work or related field preferred).
• At least 2 years in child welfare in child abuse investigations.
• Current/Active Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board.
• Must be trained and practicing Florida's Safety Practice method.
• Valid Driver License and private vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct workloads, deadlines, and objectives for investigators and support staff.
• Communicate with families and conduct investigations of alleged abuse, abandonment, neglect, or exploitation.
• Identify improvements and provide coaching to ensure performance and compliance.
• Develop training plans and cross-training for differential investigative skills.
• Review casework and safety plans with investigators and ensure proper documentation.
