Job summary

Fairfax County is seeking a General Law Litigation and Transactional Assistant County Attorney V to support civil litigation and government transactional work. The attorney will handle diverse matters from discovery to trial, advise on policy and legislation, and serve as in-house counsel to county boards and departments.

A Virginia Bar license in good standing is required, with four years of attorney experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia State Bar member in good standing.
• Four years of experience as a practicing attorney or equivalent.
• Strong litigation and trial experience required.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and represent the County in civil litigation and government transactional matters.
• Handle discovery, depositions, and motions practice through case conclusion.
• Advise on policy, legislation, and regulatory issues at state and local levels.
• Work in a collegial team within the Office of the County Attorney's General Law Section.
