Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Perris, CA seeks a Lead Counselor to manage program staff and provide counseling and education to beneficiaries. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor preferred; or Bachelor's degree plus 3 years in substance abuse field.
• 1 year teaching or presenting material related to rehabilitation from addiction.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) with ability to learn additional software.
• Age 21 or older.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to make critical decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Recruit adequate staff for each program need in cooperation with ARC HR coordinator.
• Recruit, train, and utilize community volunteers appropriately and effectively.
• Hold weekly program meetings to assure communication and team support.
• Ensure intake operations are developed and operated with ARC standards.
• Ensure paperwork and data entry conform with local requirements.
• Ensure curriculum is compliant with ARC standards.
• Oversee teaching objectives and class recruitment for all classes.
• Provide one-on-one counseling (bi-weekly) and group counseling (weekly).
• Coordinate intern program, recruit interns, and supervise as needed.
• Develop individual Rehabilitation Plans for beneficiaries and assist in reviews.
