Job summary

PowerLines seeks an experienced attorney to advise the Oklahoma Corporation Commission on complex legal issues in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. The role focuses on petroleum storage tanks, oil and gas, public utilities, and transportation regulatory matters.

You will represent the Commission in hearings, draft filings, present evidence, and collaborate with external counsel and internal divisions while managing legal risk for the agency.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of legal principles, research methods, and Oklahoma statutes.
  • Experience presenting findings of fact and conclusions of law clearly in writing and orally.
  • Preferred experience with state or federal court litigation, including collections litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Represents the Commission in state, federal, appellate, and administrative proceedings with witness testimony.
  • Performs collections functions and enforces judgments in district court.
  • Researches complex information and reports findings on agency programs and concerns.
  • Reviews contracts, regulatory compliance, employment matters, and proposed legislation.
  • Collaborates with external counsel and internal divisions to meet legal needs.
  • Manages or assists in managing legal risks for the agency.
