Qualifications

• Education: J.D. and admission to New York State Bar.
• Minimum eight years of general legal experience in relevant areas.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise Empire State Development and NYS Department of Economic Development on a range of matters.
• Draft and negotiate legal documents for real estate and economic development projects.
• Provide counsel to development and other departments; supervise outside counsel.
• Handle Freedom of Information Law requests and legislative drafting.
• Participate in corporate governance review of materials and resolutions.
• Perform other legal work as requested by the General Counsel.
