Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company seeks a Senior Counsel, Procurement, to act as the primary global legal partner for procurement and sourcing matters. The role provides senior legal leadership across the procurement spectrum, shaping contracting strategy, governance, and scalable contracting solutions across the enterprise.

You will independently advise procurement and business leaders, manage complex contract and supplier risk, and guide executive decisions with enterprise-wide implications.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a JD from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Typically 10+ years of progressively responsible legal experience in procurement, sourcing, or commercial contracting.
• Ability to independently negotiate and manage complex procurement agreements and enterprise risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior legal leadership for procurement and sourcing matters across direct/indirect materials and services.
• Shape contracting strategy, governance, and transformation roadmaps for a global enterprise.
• Advise executives on risk, negotiation strategy, and supplier escalation with enterprise impact.
• Draft, review, and negotiate procurement agreements balancing risk, cost, and business needs.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives in governance, templates, and CLM tooling.
• Manage outside counsel budgets and oversee legal spend in procurement matters.
