Qualifications

• JD required and active state bar; at least eight years in insurance defense litigation.
• Significant experience with commercial automobile, trucking, or complex casualty claims.
• Experience handling large-loss and high-exposure matters; strong research and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee litigated commercial automobile, trucking, and property and casualty claims.
• Develop litigation, settlement, and resolution strategies for high-exposure matters.
• Manage and evaluate outside counsel, third-party administrators, experts, and other vendors.
• Ensure compliance with budgets, guidelines, and case-handling standards.
• Advise leadership on liability, damages, coverage, and exposure; provide policy interpretation guidance.
• Participate in mediations, hearings, and regulatory proceedings as needed.
• Monitor legal developments affecting claims and operations; align practices with changes.
• Collaborate with claims leadership to improve procedures and reduce legal expenses.
