Uber’s Safety & Insurance Litigation team seeks a High Exposure Litigation Counsel with expertise in insurance defense and catastrophe matters. Lead outside counsel, manage risk, and collaborate across business and legal teams to shape strategy.

This role requires 8+ years of experience, a JD and bar admission, in-house experience preferred, and strong communication to distill complex issues for non-legal audiences. Base salary in SF: $253k-$281k plus bonus and equity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of insurance company or law firm experience with high-severity matters.
• J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one US state.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of high risk claims and litigation in a region of the US.
• Lead outside counsel on case strategy.
• Work with business and legal teams on risk management initiatives.
• Cross-collaborate with business leaders to provide litigation guidance.
• Draft and review pleadings, discovery, and motions.
