Job summary

BlueForge Alliance (BFA) in Bryan, Texas, seeks an Assistant General Counsel to serve as a senior, enterprise‑facing legal leader, aligning legal strategy with mission outcomes across the affiliate structure and defense contracting programs.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will translate complex regulatory issues into actionable guidance for executives, build scalable governance frameworks, and partner with Finance, Programs, HR, IT/Security, and Communications.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Active law license in at least one US state; Texas preferred.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, in-house or advisory.
• Experience in defense contracting or government contracting.
• Familiar with nonprofit/tax-exempt governance (IRC 501(c)(3)/(c)(6)).

Responsibilities

• Provide principal legal advisory and strategic counsel to executives.
• Design scalable governance frameworks and delegation structures.
• Oversee nonprofit governance, tax-exempt considerations, and ethics.
• Address FAR/DFARS, ITAR, data rights, and related compliance.
• Coordinate with Finance, Contracts, Programs, HR, IT/Security, and Communications.
