Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom in Lansdowne, VA, is seeking a Senior Counsel to lead federal and state policy initiatives within the Counter Censorship Task Force. You will supervise legal research, draft amicus briefs and testimony, and coordinate with the Public Policy team to drive strategic policy execution across the organization.

Qualifications

• J.D., active license in at least one US state bar, and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction within one year
• 10+ years of legal experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of federal and state policy and regulatory initiatives.
• Conduct complex and novel legal research and analysis to support these initiatives.
• Help drive execution of policy strategy across the ADF team, ensuring alignment on initiatives.
• Draft and file amicus briefs, comment letters, and other formal submissions.
• Provide legal advice to CEOs, GCs, and other business leaders on policy matters.
• Assist in drafting model legislation and testifying on related legislation.
• Produce memos, articles, and white papers on counter censorship topics.
• Build coalitions with legal, policy, and business leaders to advance goals.
• Represent the Task Force at meetings, events, and conferences.
