HP Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel to support its US/Canada commercial transactions across hardware, software and services. You will draft, negotiate, and guide contract terms, resolving complex issues and leading dispute resolution as needed.

You will provide trusted legal advice to the business, mentor teams, and influence process improvements while traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school; active bar membership in the US.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience in commercial contracts.
• Experience representing a major IT company on contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal expertise in support of HP Inc. portfolio for US/Canada commercial customers (Hardware, Software, Services).
• Draft and negotiate contract terms; manage escalations with established policies.
• Identify and resolve complex legal issues requiring in-depth analysis.
• Lead or assist in resolution of contract disputes with customers.
• Plan and deliver training to internal clients on designated topics.

The position is an individual contributor role and will report to the Senior Counsel, Manager in PSCO Legal.In this role you will:* Provide legal expertise in support of the entire HP Inc. portfolio in the U.S. and Canada for commercial customers, specifically Hardware (PC and Print), Software, and Services.* Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to manage team escalations in solving common and complex legal issues within established policies.* Routinely exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.* Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.* Act as a trusted advisor to the business on legal issues and legal impact of business issues.* Draft and negotiate legal contract terms.* Identify and resolve complex legal issues requiring in-depth consideration of multiple factors.* Lead or assist with the resolution of contract disputes with existing customers.* Plan and provide training to internal clients on designated legal topics.* Provide guidance on process improvements and recommend changes in alignment with legal strategy.The successful candidate will have:* a Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school plus an active bar membership from any of the fifty states or the District of Columbia;* 10+ years of relevant legal experience (from a combination of law firm, government, and/or in-house experience) in the area of commercial contracts* experience representing a major IT company on contracts matters a plus;* leadership attributes important to HP and the Legal department: + acts with highest levels of integrity and transparency + listens and communicates within all levels and groups in the company + builds trust and collaboration within formal and ad hoc teams + takes ownership and initiative to simplify and improve work + translates legal risk into pragmatic business choices + enjoys a creative approach to problem-solving + prioritizes and manages ever-changing portfolio of multiple projects + thrives in change + adopts a growth mindset approach + the ability to travel as neededThe pay range for this role is $165,450 to $190,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
