Cole Law Group, P.C. in Brentwood, Tennessee is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Counsel to join our office and handle an active civil litigation caseload from intake through trial and post‑judgment proceedings.

The ideal candidate will mentor and manage associates, coordinate discovery, depositions, motions, and hearings while delivering sound strategic advice and clear communication with clients in a diverse practice.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee license in good standing.
• 3+ years of civil‑litigation experience in Tennessee.
• Experience managing cases and direct client relationships.
• Courtroom experience, including hearings and trials.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, motions, and evidence.
• Strong negotiation and dispute‑resolution skills.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.
• Ability to analyze financial records in divorce litigation.
• Sound judgment, organization, detail orientation, and professionalism.
• Ability to give practical, candid client advice and supervise associates.

Responsibilities

• Independently managing matters across multiple practice areas from intake through resolution.
• Advising clients on legal strategy, settlements, and practical/financial considerations.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, orders, settlements, and other filings.
• Preparing and responding to discovery, reviewing records, and prepping clients and witnesses.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Preparing for and appearing at motions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Negotiating settlements and participating in mediation and ADR.
• Maintaining professional client communication.
• Managing deadlines and active caseload efficiently.
• Mentoring associates, paralegals, and staff to ensure high‑quality representation.

Cole Law Group, P.C. is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced Senior Counsel to join our Brentwood, Tennessee office.

This is a full‑time position based in our Brentwood office for an attorney who is prepared to assume meaningful responsibility for an active caseload and help mentor and manager associated. The ideal candidate can handle matters from initial consultation through negotiation, mediation, hearings, trial, and post‑judgment proceedings, as well as coach associates to do the same.

Our diverse litigation practice represents clients in most civil matters. We are looking for an attorney who combines strong litigation skills with sound judgment, excellent client communication, and the ability to identify practical solutions when settlement is in the client's best interests.

Responsibilities Include

• Independently managing matters across multiple practice areas from intake through resolution.
• Advising clients regarding legal strategy, settlement options, and the practical and financial considerations affecting their cases.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, proposed orders, settlement agreements, and other court filings.
• Preparing and responding to discovery, reviewing financial and other records, and preparing clients and witnesses for depositions and hearings.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Preparing for and appearing at motions, temporary hearings, mediations, evidentiary hearings, and trials.
• Negotiating settlements and participating effectively in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
• Maintaining regular, responsive, and professional communication with clients.
• Managing court deadlines and an active caseload in an organized and efficient manner.
• Collaborating and mentoring associates, paralegals, and professional staff to provide consistently high‑quality representation.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee law license in good standing.
• Demonstrated experience handling Tennessee civil‑law matters, with 3+ years of civil‑litigation experience.
• Experience independently managing cases and maintaining direct client relationships.
• Courtroom experience, including contested hearings and trials.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and evidentiary matters.
• Strong negotiation and dispute‑resolution skills.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral‑advocacy abilities.
• Ability to analyze financial records and and other evidence commonly encountered in divorce litigation.
• Sound judgment, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism.
• Ability to provide practical, candid advice to clients navigating difficult and often emotionally charged circumstances.
• Ability to provide practical, candid advice and direction to associates.
