Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Cost Manager for our Raleigh, NC team working with a Corporate Real Estate/Tech client. You will drive cost management processes, develop budgets, and lead cost reporting and procurement activities across multiple sectors including data centers and campuses.

The role emphasizes collaboration, client-focused solutions, and advanced Excel and IT tools. Strong understanding of construction contracts and change management is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of cost management processes.
• Develop project budgets to inform capital investment plans.
• Develop, review, issue and present cost management reports.
• Create cash flow projections and collaborate with client’s finance team on cost reporting.
• Provide assurance on change order and invoice management per client processes.
• Input commercial data into client cost management systems and prepare cost reports.
• Lead biweekly cost meetings to review procurement and change order status.
• Provide cost information for value engineering analyses.
• Review contractor closeout and ensure compliance with requirements.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join our team in Raleigh, NC to work with one of our Corporate Real Estate/Tech clients in the property sector. Our property sector team is a standout group known for its deep technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and commitment to delivering high‑quality, client‑focused solutions. The team works across a vast array of sectors including Corporate Real Estate, Tech, Hospitality, Institutions, Education, Healthcare, Data Centers and Local and Federal Government.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of cost management processes.
• Support the Develop project budgets to inform capital investment plans.
• Develops, reviews, issues and presents cost management reports.
• Develops cash flow projections and issues, with the cost report, to the client’s finance team.
• Provides assurance on change order management in accordance with the client’s process.
• Provides assurance on invoices management in accordance with the client’s process.
• Utilizes the client’s cost management systems to input commercial data and prepare cost reports.
• Provides procurement services for the client where applicable for construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis.
• Leads the biweekly cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the stakeholder teams.
• Provides cost information on value engineering analysis.
• Reviews the contractors close out administration and ensures that they meet established requirements.
• With minimal supervision and where necessary, assists the client with any cost information relating to capital projects.
• Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering or a related field.
• Preferably a member of RICS or AACE or another relevant professional body.
• Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience with cost management processes.
• Must understand Administration of Construction Contracts.
• Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
• Advanced use of Excel to generate and update reporting tools.
• Experience with Ariba, PM Web, or e-Builder is a plus.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $140,000 - $165,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
