Job summary

Linesight seeks a Senior Cost Manager in Maryland to lead pre-contract cost management, tender analysis, and final accounts. You will partner with clients and internal teams to ensure best value and transparent cost reporting.

This hybrid role requires on-site presence three days a week at Frederick or Gaithersburg. You will mentor teams, develop cost plans, and help manage project spend across diverse, high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Cost Manager, ideally from a consultancy background.
• Experience in pre-contract cost management, budget control, cost planning, and initiating change forms for discussion with stakeholders.
• Chartered or on the path to complete it.
• Degree in a project management or construction discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong relationships with team and clients through openness and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in tender/bid process from documentation through analysis and reporting.
• Manage the change management process: identify, analyze, approve, implement changes affecting cost.
• Analyze tenders/bids to ensure client value for money.
• Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including handling of claims.
• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
• Oversee project spend by creating valuations and cost reports and communicate variations clearly.
• Support cost documentation and timely communication for project decisions.
• Assist with settlements of disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency.
• Mentor and lead employees to foster performance and growth.

The Opportunity

• Actively participate in the tender/bid process--from initial tender/bid documentation through analysis and reporting
• Manage the change management process - identifying, analyzing, approving, and implementing changes that affect the project cost
• Analyse tenders/bids to ensure client value for money
• Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including the handling of any claims to ensure the client gets best value from works undertaken
• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments
• Oversee project spend by creating valuations and cost reports, and clearly communicate variations to your team
• Support nimble project management and clear decisions through excellent cost documentation and timely communication
• Support the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency
• Foster top performance and growth for your employees via excellent mentorship and leadership

• Have experience as a Senior Cost Manager, ideally from a consultancy background
• Have experience in pre-contract cost management while being experienced in budget control, cost planning, preparing and initiating change forms for discussion with other project stakeholders while being knowledgeable on alternative construction materials
• Are chartered or are on the path to complete it. We can help
• Have a degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline
• Are an excellent communicator verbally and in writing

Please note this is a hybrid role with 3 days per week required on the client site in Frederick, Maryland or Gaithersburg, Maryland.

The Salary Range for this role is $108,000.00-$145,000.00+ USD but actual salary offered is dependent upon experience, education and skillset.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually with video required.
