Vertical Recruitment seeks a Senior Cost Manager to lead commercial performance on large-scale data center construction projects in Ashburn, VA. The role oversees cost control, value for money, and contractual performance across the project lifecycle.

You will work within a collaborative commercial team, manage budgets and forecasts, lead cost planning and change management, and engage with clients and stakeholders to drive delivery of high-value outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• CSA cost management experience on data center or mission-critical projects.
• Experience delivering large-scale commercial construction projects with multi-stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Act as an integral member of the commercial team accountable for project cost and contractual performance.
• Support the delivery of value for money across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Undertake post-contract duties in line with established commercial and procurement strategies.
• Lead cost planning, estimating, procurement, and change management processes.
• Monitor and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standards.
• Manage and administer construction contracts.
• Support stakeholder engagement and client account development.
• Prioritise workloads effectively to meet project deadlines.

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Senior / Cost Manager to support the delivery of complex data center construction projects. This is an opportunity to join an established team working across mission-critical developments, including new build facilities, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the commercial and contractual performance of large-scale data center projects, ensuring value for money, strong cost control, and effective stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an integral member of the commercial team accountable for project cost and contractual performance
• Support the delivery of value for money across all stages of the project lifecycle
• Undertake post-contract duties in line with established commercial and procurement strategies

Qualifications

• Proven technical and project delivery experience
• Background within consultancy, contractor, developer, or client-side organisations
• Strong stakeholder management experience
• Experience managing multiple workstreams and meeting tight deadlines
