A well-established, privately held real estate and construction organization is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to join its construction accounting team. This role partners directly with Project Managers and Executives to review budgets, analyze job cost reports, and ensure accurate cost projections across active residential construction projects.

This is a high-visibility role focused on cost control, financial accuracy, and internal audit of project performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project budgets and monthly job status reports
• Perform internal audits of project financials and cost projections
• Prepare monthly profit forecasts and management dashboards
• Lead job status meetings with project stakeholders
• Analyze variances, identify financial risk, and recommend corrective action
• Support subcontract and change order cost tracking
• Assist with journal entries and reporting deliverables
• Provide cost control guidance to project teams
• Mentor junior team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Construction Management
• 5–7 years of construction accounting or cost engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with project cost software (Procore strongly preferred)
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
