Job summary

Mativ Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for our Athens, GA manufacturing facility. You will lead standard cost development, manage inventory valuation, and partner with operations, supply chain, and finance to drive cost improvements and performance.

The role covers month-end close, KPI reporting, cost analysis, budget and forecast cycles, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize margins while safeguarding inventory integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong costing knowledge: standard, job costing, and inventory valuation.
• Experience with ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Advanced Excel (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables, charts).
• Ability to analyze data and translate into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead standard cost development and maintenance for the plant; ensure BOMs, routings, and rates are accurate.
• Support month-end close activities related to inventory and manufacturing costs; journal entries and variance reconciliation.
• Deliver cost and operational analysis to identify drivers and improve margins.
• Lead budget and forecast cycles with insights on costs and utilization.
• Prepare and distribute monthly KPI reporting packages for plant leadership reviews.
• Ensure inventory integrity and valuation accuracy; review reserves and procedures.
• Support cost reduction initiatives with ROI analyses and tracking of savings.
• Drive continuous improvement and identify automation opportunities.
• Participate in broader accounting activities including balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
