Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to lead cost analysis, standard costing, and inventory valuation. You will partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and finance to drive profitability and ensure GAAP compliance.

The role includes month-end close support, cost variance reporting, budgeting support, and ERP system enhancements. CPA/CMA preferred; manufacturing experience highly desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• ERP experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• GAAP knowledge and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs, including labor, material, and overhead rates.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and ensure inventory valuation accuracy.
• Prepare and analyze cost variance reports (purchase price, labor, usage, variances).
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Monitor costs to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop cost models for existing and new products.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
