Materion is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for our Elmore, Ohio manufacturing facility. The role supports month-end close, budget preparation, and inventory audits while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate standard costing.

The position backs up cost accounting across plants and interfaces with plant management, engineering, quality, and EH&S teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of three years of accounting experience, preferably in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred; Manufacturing or Plant accounting experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to accurately apply the principles.
• Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform month-end closing activities for assigned locations, including journal entries, management reports and reconciliations.
• Conduct review and analysis related to production order activity, spending variances, balance sheet accuracy, and accruals as needed.
• Assist in the annual operating budget including capital spending, depreciation plans and plant cost center budgets.
• Assist with annual physical inventory and audit of cycle counts at assigned locations.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Backup cost accounting for other plants as needed.

The **Senior Cost Accountant** will be responsible for various aspects of the month-end closing activities, the annual physical inventory, and the annual operating budget. Additional duties include assisting in both internal and external audits, preparation of assigned month-end account reconciliations, and maintenance of the standard cost system. This position also backs up the cost accounting function for other plants. Key interfaces are with plant management, engineering, quality, technical, EH&S and manufacturing personnel.***You Will Have the Opportunity to:**** Perform month-end closing activities for assigned locations.
