Job summary

UGI Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Corrosion Technician to prevent and mitigate corrosion on underground metallic pipelines. Responsibilities include installation, inspection and maintenance of cathodic protection systems, with emphasis on regulatory compliance and documentation.

The role requires knowledge of CG concepts, field procedures, and ability to coordinate with C&M, engineering and contractors. NACE certifications are expected within specified timelines and robust data skills are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with basic electrical knowledge.
• NACE certification required within 5 years (CP1) and CP2 within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Survey and maintain existing cathodic protection systems.
• Instruct and coordinate with C&M, engineering, and contractors on protection of new services and mains.
• Assist in installation of corrosion control systems.
• Assist in pipeline integrity assessment activities.
• Design cathodic protection systems for services and smaller segments.
• Inspect services or mains for potential future protection.
• Adhere to laws, regulations and Company policies.
