Job summary

MISTRAS Group in the United States seeks an experienced corrosion engineer to drive inspection and NDT services. You will perform damage mechanism reviews, analyze data on fixed equipment and piping, and advise clients on corrosion control strategies, including inspections and monitoring.

The role includes preparing CCDs and IOWs, developing inspection strategies, and providing materials and fabrication expertise for client projects. Travel about 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering, mathematics or pure science discipline required.
• 5+ years of corrosion engineering experience in refining/petrochemical industries for static equipment.
• Experience in Risk-Based Inspection programs.
• Knowledge of API 571, 580, 581; API 510/570/579/653 advantageous.
• ASME VIII Div. 1 & 2 and ASME B31 codes knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform Damage Mechanism Reviews (DMRs) based on client chemistries, parameters, materials and mitigation methods.
• Analyze inspection, operational and environmental data for corrosion of fixed equipment and piping.
• Consult on corrosion control strategies including monitoring and inspection activities.
• Prepare corrosion documents such as CCDs and IOWs.
• Assist in developing inspection strategies targeting damage mechanisms.
• Provide materials, corrosion, inspection planning and fabrication expertise for client projects.
• Support development of Mechanical Integrity programs and procedures.
