Job summary

Qualifications

• One year as a Corrections Officer 1 or two years of experience in corrections security work.
• Must currently hold regular civil service status in the classification: Corrections Officer 1.
• Eligible for selection under the PSCOA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Exercise care, custody, and control over inmates on an assigned shift.
• Direct the work of subordinate officers and supervise custody and non‑professional counseling of inmates.
• Maintain security and enforce procedures within the assigned area.
• Perform physical tasks and respond to incidents as needed.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally and establish working relationships.
