Job summary

Crate & Barrel, a leader in home furnishings, seeks a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist to develop and publish internal communications across channels. You will collaborate with the Communications Manager to ensure high-quality content aligned with priorities and brand standards.

The role is on-site at our Northbrook, IL offices with optional remote work on Fridays, acting as a content owner for internal sites and leading communications campaigns across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, PR, Marketing related field.
• 5+ years in corporate communications or large media/PR agency.
• Proven graphic design proficiency.

The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist plays a key role in executing internal communications that keep associates informed, engaged, and connected to company priorities. Working closely with the Communications Manager and broader communications team, this role is responsible for developing, editing, producing, and publishing content across internal channels; managing functional communications intake; maintaining site content and associate resources; and supporting consistent, high-quality communications across the organization.

This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL offices with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

This role is an Individual Contributor position.

A day in the life as a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist...

• Execute internal communications across newsletters, email, video, Slack, and internal sites, aligned with the established message map, editorial calendar, and communications priorities
• Partner with the Communications Manager to develop, edit, design, schedule, and publish engaging, high-quality content tailored to different channels and associate audiences
• Manage the intake, editing, coordination, and publishing of functional communications, including Human Resources and Facilities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and timely delivery
• Serve as the content owner for the internal site, leading content development, updates, and ongoing maintenance in partnership with stakeholders
• Support the execution of company-wide communications campaigns, announcements, and initiatives, ensuring consistency with company messaging and brand standards
• Partner with and support channel communications teams as needed, providing content development, editing, and execution support
• Lead the management of branded communications templates, tools, and associate resources in partnership with the Corporate Communications leader and brand Creative team
• Support onboarding and training for new Corporate Communications associates, including communications channels, tools, processes, and resources
• Maintain organized communications assets and workflows, proactively identifying opportunities to improve content quality, efficiency, and the associate experience

What you'll bring to the table...

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging communications
• Experience developing and executing content across multiple communications channels, including email, digital platforms, and video
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Agility and adaptability to quickly pivot in response to changing business needs and timelines
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and relationship-building skills, with use effective across teams while maintaining brand consistency
• Ability to thoughtfully leark AI tools to support content creation, brainstorming, editing, and workflow efficiency, while applying sound judgement to ensure accuracy and authenticity, and alignment with company standards.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

• 5+ years experience in a corporate communications roles or large media/PR agency experience
• Proven graphic design proficiency
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Canva, and Google Workspace (Google Suite), as well as experience with content management systems and email marketing platform
• Experience in content creation and ongoing managing and overseeing in-house communication, including video
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, PR, Marketing related field
