Job summary

CenterPoint Energy seeks a Senior Corporate Media Specialist to lead external communications, serve as a company spokesperson, and manage proactive storytelling across channels. This role collaborates with operations, government relations, regulatory teams and external stakeholders to protect and enhance the company’s reputation.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of communications experience and a track record in crisis response, including experience with Incident Command System (ICS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Communications, Public Relations or a related area of study.
• 3 to 5 years of communications experience.
• Experience as a company/organization spokesperson.
• Experience in crisis response, including in an Incident Command System (ICS).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Corporate Communications representative, guiding tactics and evaluating results.
• On-call emergency response communications team member during crises.
• Communicate clearly across digital, social and traditional channels.
• Convey complex information in an engaging, digestible way.
• Advise leadership on messaging to support business objectives.
• Develop and execute strategic internal and external communications plans.
