Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our manufacturing-focused finance team in the USA. You will manage core accounting processes, ensure precise financial records, and support monthly/annual closes with variance analysis.

You will collaborate on ERP implementations, strengthen internal controls, and help prepare reports for decision-making and external audits. A CPA is preferred, with extensive accounting experience guiding the effort.

Qualifications

• Experience managing accounting operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and comprehensive reports.
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit support.
• Experience with ERP implementations or upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with stakeholders to complete the accounting activities for our company on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare and Maintain Financial Records – Record journal entries, conduct financial analyses, and perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support Month-End and Year-End Close – Assist in the monthly close process, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
• Generate Financial Reports – Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports to support business decision-making.
• Facilitate Audit and Compliance Efforts – Support the annual audit process by ensuring proper documentation, adherence to accounting standards, and compliance with internal controls.
• Contribute to ERP Implementation – Actively participate in ERP system planning, implementation, and optimization to enhance financial operations.
• Develop and Maintain Standard Procedures – Prepare and utilize detailed work instructions for recurring accounting tasks to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Collaborate on Budgeting & Forecasting – Work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
• Ensure Strong Internal Controls – Maintain compliance with internal control procedures and segregation of duties to safeguard financial integrity.
• Support Public Company Readiness – Assist in implementing the necessary financial systems and controls required for public company reporting.
• Drive Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and speed in financial processes.
