Topfolio is seeking a Senior Copywriter with deep healthcare communications expertise to translate clinical data into clear, compliant promotional copy. You will lead projects from concept through final delivery, collaborating with Creative, Strategy, Account, and Medical teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in healthcare copywriting, strong editing and research skills, and experience in medical-legal-regulatory review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience, ideally within a healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical communications, or healthcare advertising agency.
  • Demonstrated experience writing for healthcare professionals, payers, managed markets, patient support, or other healthcare audiences.
  • Strong understanding of clinical and scientific information and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging communications.
  • Experience working within a medical-legal-regulatory review environment and familiarity with substantiating promotional claims.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, research, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Creative, Strategy, Account, Medical, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to track deliverables through multiple stages of development.
  • Comfortable receiving and incorporating feedback from internal teams, clients, and reviewers.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit engaging, original, and strategically relevant copy across a variety of healthcare and pharmaceutical communications and promotional materials.
  • Develop content that effectively communicates complex clinical and scientific information to payer, managed markets, and other healthcare audiences in a clear, compelling, and accessible manner.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of clinical data, scientific literature, and product information, with the ability to accurately interpret data and support claims throughout the development and review process.
  • Confidently participate in medical-legal-regulatory (MLR) reviews and defend copy, messaging, and claims using appropriate clinical evidence and source materials.
  • Partner with Creative, Strategy, Account, Medical, and other cross-functional teams to develop integrated concepts and messaging strategies that align with client objectives and audience needs.
  • Participate actively in strategic and creative brainstorming sessions, contributing original ideas that are both creatively compelling and medically/scientifically sound.
  • Conduct independent research using clinical literature, peer-reviewed publications, product resources, competitive materials, and other credible sources to inform content development.
  • Develop a range of promotional, educational, and informational materials tailored to specific audiences, channels, and stages of the customer journey.
  • Help build, organize, and maintain reference libraries and supporting documentation for assigned brands and clients.
  • Work closely with the account team to understand client objectives, project requirements, timelines, and strategic priorities, ensuring copy effectively supports broader business goals.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of writing, editing, accuracy, grammar, and attention to detail across all deliverables.
  • Ensure brand-specific voice, tone, messaging, terminology, and style are consistently applied across projects and communications.
  • Enforce consistency in style, tone, focus, and messaging across multiple deliverables and channels.
  • Monitor assigned projects throughout each phase of development, including concepting, layout, medical/legal/regulatory review, production, media, research, and final release.
  • Review copy and creative materials at various stages of development to ensure accuracy, consistency, quality, and alignment with approved messaging.
  • Identify potential issues, inconsistencies, or gaps in messaging and proactively communicate them to the appropriate team members.
  • Direct questions and project-specific queries to the appropriate Strategy Lead, Account Team Lead, Medical reviewer, or other subject-matter expert as needed.
  • Participate in client-agency meetings when appropriate, contributing copywriting and content expertise and helping communicate the rationale behind creative and messaging decisions.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and remain receptive to feedback while protecting the strategic and creative integrity of the work.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality work and meeting established deadlines.
  • Contribute to a positive agency-client relationship through thoughtful communication, dependable execution, and consistently strong creative output.
