Job summary

Flik Independent School Dining in New York is hiring for a Senior Cook for The Leffell School in Hartsdale. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with duties centered on hot cooking and food safety in a school dining environment.

The ideal candidate has prior hot cooking experience and is prepared to work full-time while benefiting from training opportunities and internal referral bonuses as part of our supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous hot cooking experience preferred.
• Full-time availability Monday–Friday, 6:30 am–3:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.
• Prepare various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
• Operate and clean equipment after each use and perform scheduled routine cleaning.
• Store, label and date food items; maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
• Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Assist in maintaining daily production records and documentation.
• Assist in cross training of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food to ensure it is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and company standards, guidelines and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.

• Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy. Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Assists Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and completes all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
• Assists in the cross training of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
