Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) in Utah is seeking a Controls Engineer – Robotics to own end‑to‑end integration of FANUC robotic arms on our autonomous yard truck platforms.

The role centers on system architecture, motion planning, field deployment, and ongoing performance improvement. You will lead vision system integration for outdoor environments with variable lighting, adapt 2D/3D vision, and collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to design EOAT and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with end-to-end robotics systems integration.
• Strong FANUC programming (TP/KAREL) and system integration experience.
• Hands-on experience with 2D/3D vision systems in real-world deployments.
• Proven ability to design or collaborate on EOAT and mechanical interfaces.
• Experience bridging hardware, software, and controls across sensors and PLCs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and independent field deployment skills.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end integration of FANUC robotic arm systems from architecture to field deployment.
• Lead vision system integration and adapt 2D/3D vision to outdoor, variable lighting.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams on EOAT and tooling interfaces.
• Develop robust motion strategies, error handling, and recovery for real-world conditions.
• Troubleshoot field issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Coordinate with third-party vision vendors and integrate their solutions.
• Drive testing, validation, and performance benchmarking against reliability and safety goals.
• Support on-site deployments and work with operations to maintain system performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the robotics team.
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and continuous improvement.
