Job summary

EAD is seeking a Staff Controls Engineer to lead controls engineering on industrial and manufacturing projects, delivering accurate, buildable control system solutions and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams on site.

The role requires 7–10 years in controls, experience with PLC/DCS, HMI/SCADA, field commissioning, and strong communication; travel and on-site work are expected, with safety and client-focused delivery as priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Staff: 7–10 years of controls engineering in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience with PLC/DCS-based control system design, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA programming and configuration.
• Experience performing field work including commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting in active facilities.
• Experience working with multi-discipline project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and project teams.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and deliver on cost and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and DCS-based control systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
• Develop and configure HMI and SCADA applications to meet project requirements.
• Perform field activities including verification, construction support, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, process, and other teams to align controls scope with overall design.
• Prepare engineering deliverables: control system design docs, specs, instrument lists, panel inputs.
• Support proposals with technical input, hours estimates, and scope definitions.
• Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and lessons learned sessions.
• Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and field teams professionally.
