Job summary

E Tech Group in Ohio is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design, deployment, testing and startup of complex control system projects across client facilities. You will develop and modify design documentation, perform bench testing of PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs, and provide on-site and remote commissioning support.

The role requires travel 30–50% (primarily local), independent work ethic, and a collaborative problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in the control system industry.
• Ability to work independently with an organized, methodical approach.
• Basic understanding of control system network topologies.
• Instrumentation calibration / startup experience.
• Experience commissioning in “live” environments.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% (mostly local with remote support).
• DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a team member supporting the execution of project work from design through implementation.
• Develop/modify design documentation – drawing packages, method of procedures, sequence of operations, testing scripts.
• Perform quality checks and bench testing of PLC, HMI, & SCADA programs.
• Provide onsite and remote support commissioning system design changes.
• Work with installation team to monitor progress, QA/QC installation, test procedures, document, and communicate with team progress observations.
• Adapt to a flexible work schedule & travel, if necessary, to participate in the design, development, and start-up of control systems at the client’s facility

Senior Controls Engineer who will be part of a growing business to support the design, deployment, testing, and maintenance of control system projects. This position will require frequent updates to management and customers for work status updates.

You Will:

You Have:

• Basic understanding of control system network topologies

You May Have:

• Experience with PLC or DDC controlled data center projects
• Experience with AVEVA Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, OPC UA/DA, and A/B Rockwell or Schneider PLC’s.
• Experience Building Management & HVAC Control Systems
