Job summary

The role involves direct customer interaction during design reviews, project updates, runoffs, and installations, plus leading startups and ensuring projects stay on budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7+ years experience for Senior level.
• Experience in building controls and troubleshooting.
• Robot programming experience preferred.
• Vision programming experience preferred.
• PLC protocols: AB RSLogix, Siemens STEP 5/7, GE Machine Edition, Mitsubishi.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of automation systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Designs include power distribution, I/O controls, PLCs, robot programming, and panel layouts.
• Calculate SCCR, power rating, and FLA for panels.
• Direct electrical assembly during build and installation.
• Configure, debug, and test equipment on shop floor.
• Lead runoff and startup for new projects, ensuring on-time delivery.

Job description

In partnership with our client, leading U.S. manufacturer of copper and aluminum building wire and cable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications, ResourceTek is seeking Mid-level and Senior Controls Engineers to join their team near Decatur, Alabama. The right candidate will be proficient in many industrial controls platforms and will directly interact with the customer in design reviews, project updates, runoffs, and installations. This is a direct hire opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Electrical design of complete automation systems using AutoCAD Electrical software
• Designs include power distribution, I/O controls, communications, and panel layout drawings as well as PLC and robot programming.
• Calculating panel SCCR, power rating, and FLA for panel rating.
• Direct electrical assembly during equipment build.
• Configure, debug, and test equipment on shop floor.
• Lead runoff on the shop floor.
• Direct electrical assembly during installation of equipment.
• Lead startup of new projects and drive project to completion.
• Manage time and costs to be within budget and on schedule

REQUIREMENTS

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in building controls, machine tools, and troubleshooting control systems. 7+ years experience needed for Senior Level classification.
• Robot programming, Fanuc preferred
• Vision programming, Cognex and Fanuc iRVision preferred
• Experience with PLC protocols: Allen Bradley RSLogix, Siemens Step 5 & 7, GE Machine Edition, and Mitsubishi.
• Experience setting up and utilizing networks using DeviceNet, Profibus, PROFINET, Ethernet, Ethernet/IP
• Experience setting up Allen Bradley, Seimens and Automation Direct HMI screens/panels
• Experience with VFD Drives, installation, repair and programming of ABB, Parker, AB, Yaskawa, and Siemens.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to lead a project at installation and be the main customer interface.
• Understanding of RIA Robot Safety Standards, OSHA Safety Standards, and NFPA 79 & 70E standards.
