Job summary

Gables Search Group is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for our Buffalo, NY manufacturing plant. You will lead power and control systems maintenance, optimize operation performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive reliability targets across electrical power and process control systems.

Responsibilities include acting as the main troubleshooter for plant power and control systems, developing standards, leading the site masterplan for power and controls, ensuring codes compliance, and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years of controls or electrical engineering experience.
• Understanding of machine or process control hardware, instrumentation and software.

• Main troubleshooter for plant power and control systems and key member of plant technical leadership.
• Develop and implement power and control standards for projects and upgrades.
• Lead the site masterplan for power and controls, including equipment replacement planning.
• Ensure technician compliance with local and national codes.
• Validate MES data from PLCs and support Process Engineers in data analysis.
• Design and implement machine control and process automation applications.
• Collaborate with leadership on equipment selection and installation.
• Provide power and controls engineering support on capital projects.

SENIOR CONTROLS ENGINEER

Lead the way in power and control systems, equipment maintenance, operation optimization, troubleshooting and reliability targets at the Buffalo, NY manufacturing plant. Responsible for power distribution, compliance, safety, and technician skill development in electrical power and process control systems.

Location: Buffalo, NY manufacturing plant

• Main troubleshooter for plant power and control systems and vital member of plant technical leadership


• Develop and implement power and control standards for all projects and upgrades


• Lead the execution of site masterplan for power and controls systems, including equipment replacement plan


• Establish sustainable system for E&I technicians skill development


• Ensure technician compliance with local and national codes


• Validate MES data from PLCs and support plant Process Engineers in data analysis


• Design and implement machine control and process automation applications


• Identify and eliminate losses in safety, quality, reliability, and cost areas


• Take ownership of key elements related to power and control systems


• Collaborate with leadership on equipment selection and installation


• Serve as project manager for various initiatives


• Provide power and controls engineering support on capital projects


• Utilize control, simulation, and process modeling technologies to analyze and improve operations


• Compensation range: $85,500 – $123,200 annualized

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
