Job summary

Kohler Co. in Casa Grande, AZ, is seeking an experienced Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to maintain and improve automated systems. You will work with 90+ FANUC robots, Rockwell platforms, and Ignition HMI/SCADA, advancing safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, project leadership, and collaboration with Production, Maintenance, and Process Engineering. Onsite work setup with a strong benefits package and relocation support.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, or related ABET-accredited program.
3+ years of experience in controls/automation/manufacturing engineering.
Experience with Rockwell Automation Logix5000 platforms.
Experience supporting FANUC robotics systems.
Experience with HMI/SCADA development; Ignition preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis in manufacturing.
Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, IOLink, BACNet, Modbus TCP.
SolidWorks/Inventor/Creo or similar CAD experience.
3D printing, fixture design, and rapid prototyping is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support daily manufacturing operations and resolve controls, robotics, and automation issues.
Lead troubleshooting for PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, networks, and equipment.
Develop and maintain Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix systems.
Configure and support Ignition HMI/SCADA applications.
Assist 90+ FANUC robots in the manufacturing environment.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime and faults.
Identify and implement automation and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain controls standards, drawings, and programming practices.
Support capital projects involving automation equipment and new lines.
Collaborate with Process Engineering and Maintenance to improve performance.
