Job summary

Mars, based in Chicago, is seeking an Accelerator Controller to lead Accounting and Reporting for the Accelerator division, ensuring integrity and timeliness of financial statements across multiple BUs and the Mars Snacking segment. This role partners with internal/external auditors and drives strong close processes.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of accounting/audit experience, a degree in accounting/finance (MS/MBA a plus), and proven leadership in a complex, global CPG

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of accounting or financial audit experience.
• Experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry.
• Experience leading teams, including talent development and succession planning.
• Expertise in technical accounting, financial processes, and internal controls.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced business environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse Accounting and Reporting team with accountability for talent development, performance, and succession planning.
• Oversee periodic financial reviews to ensure quality, completeness, and accuracy of financial statements.
• Implement new accounting standards and Finance Manual guidelines cross-functionally, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment across the Region.
• Set governance tone and controls execution, ensuring compliance with internal policies and control requirements.
• Certify and report financial results and control execution for senior management at Mars, Inc. and Mars Snacking Global.
• Partner with PwC and Internal Audit to support efficient, effective, and clean audit outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and drive efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
• Manage performance between MGS-F/ICTC and the Region, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a member of the Region’s Finance Leadership Team and contribute to broader finance strategy.
