Job summary

Farmers and Merchants Trust Company is seeking a Controller in Long Beach, CA to oversee accurate financial accounting and reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

This role manages GL, cash management, AP/AR, payroll, depreciation, and regulatory reporting for the Trust and affiliated entities. The successful candidate will lead month-end close, create forecasting models, and supervise staff to ensure timely, accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Ten years of relevant accounting experience with GAAP expertise.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee cash flow and liquidity forecasting for all entities.
• Manage accounts receivable/payable, invoicing, and vendor payments.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and reports.
