Job summary

Taylor Fresh Foods, Inc. in Salinas, CA, is seeking a Senior Controller to lead the finance organization for the Foodservice segment, championing GAAP compliance, close processes, and formal reporting.

You will partner with executive leadership to drive cost optimization, capital planning, and working capital improvements while building high‑performing teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years in senior finance leadership roles within a manufacturing company, fresh food preferred.
• Experience managing large budgets.
• Excel proficiency in pivot tables, vlookup, if statements, index, and other formulas and data manipulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Food Service President and leadership team to develop and execute business strategies.
• Provide financial analysis and insight to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost optimization.
• Monitor and report key financial and operational performance indicators.
• Oversee standard costing and product cost analysis.
• Lead financial analysis related to raw product costs, packaging materials, labor costs, freight costs, etc.
• Ensure timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close activities.
• Monitor capital project spending and expected returns.
• Optimize cash flow and working capital performance.
• Lead and develop finance and accounting teams across the Food Service segment.
• Collaborate with multiple controllers within the division and across the Taylor Farms Family.
• Dotted line reporting relationship to Chief Accounting Officer
