Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Control Engineer to design, develop, install, and maintain control systems for mission-critical facilities. You will work with PLCs, SCADA, and automation to deliver robust, secure solutions for complex operations.

The role emphasizes field deployment, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support. You will lead programming efforts, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to grid resilience.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience within the electric utilities sector.
• A minimum of 5 years specializing in solution architecture.
• 5 years direct involvement in real-time grid management (ADMS, DERMS, SCADA, EMS).
• Experience with vendor software systems such as AspenTech, Siemens, ABB, GE, Schneider Electric, OSIsoft, Honeywell, Oracle Utilities, Eaton.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Originate design documents for small projects and support large programs.
• Lead programming/configuration for complex automation and SCADA applications.
• Test, commission, and deploy deployed systems; develop test fixtures.
• Maintain and upgrade existing control systems; perform field troubleshooting.
• Prepare cost estimates and assist in bids and proposals.
