Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Bartlett, IL is seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead complex custom automation projects from concept through startup. You will design and program controls using Allen-Bradley PLCs/HMIs, drive servo and motion systems, robotics, vision and safety, and own FAT/SAT and customer commissioning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Experience with machine automation, robotics, motion/servo, and troubleshooting.
• Strong electrical controls and machine sequencing knowledge.
• Experience with FAT/SAT and customer commissioning.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work hands-on with equipment.
• GM controls standards experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or related engineering field preferred.
