Job summary

Huntington National Bank seeks a Credit Review Officer - Consumer in a hybrid, office-based role in Michigan. You will independently evaluate credit processes, report on effectiveness, and provide risk management insights for retail/consumer credit.

Requirements include 5+ years in credit review or risk analysis, solid MS Office and SAS/SQL skills, and a proven delivery track record within a large financial institution. Compensation reflects a $70,000-$140,000 salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of related consumer or scored small business lending experience
• 5+ years of related experience in credit review, risk management, underwriting or data/credit risk analysis
• Working knowledge of credit risk management frameworks
• MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and credit/statistical analysis tools
• Project management skills with ability to deliver high quality results on deadlines
• Preferred degrees: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or Statistics
• Certification or progress toward MBA, CPA, Financial Risk Manager or SAS Certified
• Technical accounting (GAAP) or financial statement analysis knowledge
• 3+ years utilizing SAS/SQL
• Conflict management

Responsibilities

• Perform credit risk review engagements and continuous monitoring within a large financial institution.
• Assess credit risk inherent in products/services and adherence to policies and regulations.
• Review transactions and portfolio data for underwriting quality and risk management.
• Compile data from multiple sources and summarize results for end users.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify emerging risks and update plans.
• Attend risk management committee meetings and communicate key takeaways.
• Identify emerging risk issues and provide recommendations to improve practices.
• Develop relationships with bank management to execute reviews efficiently.
• Provide senior management with information on credit risk for assigned units.
• Manage engagements within allocated timeframes with clear communication.
