Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Newton, MA is seeking a Senior Consumables Engineer to lead design and development of disposable devices for next generation products in the Endovascular Robotics line. You will engage in prototyping, testing, and DFMA-driven improvements while coordinating with manufacturing and vendors to deliver reliable, manufacturable components.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical/ Biomedical/ Manufacturing Engineering, 7+ years in product development in regulated environments,

Qualifications

• Experience in designing plastic injection molded parts.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks modeling.
• Experience with DFMA and DTC.
• Experience with custom extrusions.
• Experience with consumable manufacturing.
• Experience with plastic fabrication processes such as heat staking, heat sealing, ultrasonic welding, and insertion.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Experience managing external resources preferred.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Ability to travel up to 10% is required.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design and development of disposable devices for the next generation product.
• Participates in hands-on activities including prototyping, and engineering testing.
• Participates in generation of new concepts.
• Upgrades the design of existing devices for manufacturability, performance, or reliability improvements.
• Manages vendors in the manufacture and validation of components.
• Develops and maintains project schedules and budgets.
• Develops manufacturing fixtures to manufacture the product.
• Works with manufacturing in the development and execution of the manufacturing processes for the initial product builds.
