Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in relational data models, ingestion, transformation, and analytics delivery
  • Or 9+ years’ experience in the same areas
  • Strong experience with Snowflake, DBT, AWS, and SQL including data transformation and quality
  • Experience building datasets for ad-hoc analytics, reporting, and stakeholder insight
  • Experience in regulated industries with governance and data privacy requirements

Job description

The Senior Consulting Data Engineer is responsible for providing value to the business by ensuring solutions are implemented as designed to the customer’s satisfaction and approval. This role works in a quality, professional manner to complete project responsibilities on time and on budget, resulting in high customer satisfaction. Gain a clear understanding of client environment, identify client needs, and effectively communicate solutions. This role also supports data engineering delivery by designing, ingesting, transforming, validating, and documenting analytics data solutions, including medallion-style data marts that combine multiple data sources into trusted models for reporting and actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

What you will do Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work, proactively escalating potential budget issues as soon as they are known Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ingest, maintain, and deliver analytics data that supports reporting, ad‑hoc analysis, and business decision‑making. Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation processes using Snowflake, SQL, DBT, and related cloud data technologies. Monitor data pipelines and automated jobs to ensure data is captured, processed, and delivered accurately and on time. Perform validation and testing of data transformations to ensure high‑quality, reliable data outputs. Ensure data processes are efficient, repeatable, well documented, and aligned with required governance and data privacy expectations. Work independently on multiple projects in diverse customer environments, ensure that appropriate management is apprised of project status, bring projects to completion and follow up with customers regarding results. Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex technology problems. Conduct analysis, problem solving, and planning. Identify and communicate potential opportunities for cross‑selling to the sales team. Collaborate with team members in the development of best practices within team Demonstrable passion for technology while using problem solving capabilities to deliver solutions utilizing a top end engineering approach with an enthusiasm for learning Focused on delivering value to the business with relentless efforts to improve process Flexible in thinking; able to evolve a solution when additional information or ideas are presented making tactical vs. strategic tradeoffs where needed

Qualifications

What we expect of you Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ professional experience with relational data models, databases, data engineering, ingestion, transformation, and analytics delivery OR 9+ years’ professional experience with relational data models, databases, data engineering, ingestion, transformation, and analytics delivery Strong experience with Snowflake, DBT, AWS, and SQL, including data transformation, cleansing, preparation, and performance‑minded development. Experience developing datasets that support ad‑hoc analytical needs, reporting, and marketing or business stakeholder insight generation. Experience working in highly regulated industries and complying with internal governance, data privacy, and data quality requirements. Preferred experience includes healthcare data, marketing data, and a bachelor’s degree in IT, software engineering, data engineering, or a related field. Implements, maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots S&S solutions; transferring technical skills and knowledge to client through work logs. Performs overall solution Quality Assurance (QA) tasks for all projects delivered against assigned project deliverables while ensuring they are in alignment with the project scope and SOW (Statement of Work). Provides implementation/migration planning to client, knowing and meeting client timetable, coordinating vendor installations, etc. Facilitates communication between product team members. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with leadership stakeholders and clients. Proven ability to maintain and create technical documentation for assigned project work. Demonstrated attention to detail, especially client and project changes, with solid analytical skills to identify potential risks. History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated experience applying lessons learned to unique problems. History of reskilling on new technologies with understanding of difference with past technologies. Ability and willingness to travel as needed to other CDW locations or client sites.

Compensation

Pay range: $105,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and skill set Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan
