Senior Consultant, Industrial Advisory


Overview

Baker Tilly’s Industrial Advisory team partners with manufacturing and distribution clients to solve complex operational and financial challenges through data‑driven insights and strategic advisory services. Our professionals help clients improve operational performance, evaluate capital investments, optimize profitability, and leverage technology to drive better business decisions.


As part of this growing team, you will participate in the following types of engagements:



  • Production cost and profitability analysis

  • KPI strategy, dashboard development, and performance reporting

  • Financial modeling for capital investments and manufacturing assets

  • Compliance analytics supporting Baker Tilly’s tax credit services

  • Global Trade Management projects focused on customs and tariff optimization

  • Data pipeline development and ETL processes for unique client needs


As a Senior Consultant, you’ll collaborate with teams across Baker Tilly to solve complex operational challenges and deliver high impact solutions. This role will involve heavy collaboration with clients, often working alongside them to help build value.


Successful candidates will be expected to take ownership of assigned engagements, exercise sound professional judgment, and move work forward with limited day‑to‑day oversight. The successful candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications


  • 4-year degree

  • 3 years professional experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data science, or data analytics

  • 3+ years relevant work experience within manufacturing companies or manufacturing industry consulting

  • Detailed understanding of daily operations within manufacturing and distribution companies

  • Experience building financial models incorporating income statements and cash flows to support business decisions for industrial companies

  • Understanding of inventory and product costing methods and processes preferred

  • Experience with core financial processes (e.g. monthly close, financial reporting) of a manufacturing company preferred

  • Experience with developing reporting or data analytics integrating manufacturing ERP platforms

  • Highly developed skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) .

  • 2+ years of experience building data analytics workflows and and data visualizations within leading applications (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.)

  • Experience in the following technology platforms:

    • Microsoft Excel

    • Data Visualization Tools

    • Tableau

    • Tableau Prep Builder

    • Tableau Desktop

    • Tableau Cloud

    • Tableau Server

    • Microsoft Power BI

    • Microsoft Power Query

The pay rate ranges for this job position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.



  • Pay range for Chicago, IL is $75,500 - 139,030

  • Pay range for Milwaukee & Madison WI is $77,800 - 126,390

  • Pay range for Appleton, WI is $74,600-120,070.
