Job summary

CrossCountry Consulting is seeking a data-driven professional to execute financial due diligence engagements for buy-side and sell-side transactions, including quality of earnings and working capital analyses. You will work with large datasets and build models and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Python to surface insights for deal teams.

With 3–5 years of relevant experience, CPA eligibility preferred, travel up to 30%, and opportunities to mentor teammates, this role blends

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in financial due diligence, transaction analytics, public accounting, audit, or related advisory role.
  • Proficiency with analytics and data visualization tools including Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, or R.

Responsibilities

  • Execute financial and analytical workstreams across buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify performance trends, margin dynamics, revenue quality, and deal risks.
  • Build financial models, data pipelines, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, SQL, Python, R) to surface actionable insights.
  • Draft client-facing reports, executive summaries, and data books communicating analytical findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tax, legal, IT, operations) on deal diligence.
  • Apply programming languages and analytics platforms to automate data processing and improve workflows.
  • Contribute to AI-enabled solutions and stay informed about emerging AI tools for client work.
  • Manage project workstreams, coordinate data requests, and mentor junior team members.

What You’ll Do:
  • Execute financial and analytical workstreams across buy-side and sell-side FDD engagements,including carve-outs and divestitures, including quality of earnings analysis, net working capital assessments, EBITDA normalization, and cash flow evaluation.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets—spanning transactional, operational, and financial records to identify underlying business performance trends, margin dynamics, revenue quality, and potential deal risks and opportunities.
  • Build financial models, data pipelines, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel,Snowflake, Databricks, SQL) that efficiently surface actionable insights for client deliverables and internal team review.
  • Draft and contribute to sections of client-facing reports, executive summaries, presentations, and data books that clearly communicate analytical findings to deal stakeholders.
  • Participate in management interviews of target company executives and collaborate with cross-functional workstreams including tax, legal, IT, and operational due diligence teams.
  • Apply programming languages and analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Alteryx) to automate data processing and improve the efficiency and scalability of diligence workflows.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing firm-approved, AI-enabled solutions for clients, in accordance with company policies on data protection, intellectual property, and professional standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging AI tools and techniques and collaborate with firm leadership to identify compliant opportunities to enhance client solutions and internal processes.
  • Manage project workstreams, coordinate data requests, and ensure deadlines are met across concurrent engagements.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
What You’ll Bring:
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial due diligence, transaction analytics, public accounting, audit, or a related financial services or advisory role.
  • Working knowledge of quality of earnings, net working capital, and EBITDA analysis in an M&A or transaction context.
  • Proficiency with one or more analytics and data visualization tools, including: Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, R, or advanced Excel (SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguous data environments under tight timelines.
  • Experience collaborating within project teams and managing individual workstreams with minimal supervision.
  • Comfort with AI: Demonstrated ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Openness to learning and applying emerging technologies including AI and automation in alignment with firm policies and client standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%; travel varies based on client preferences.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA preferred;CFA a plus; prior audit or public accounting experience a plus.
