Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Consultant to support a mission-critical DoD customer in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area. This role covers design, development, integration, and enhancement of secure Appian applications supporting federal workflows and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Appian development experience, strong integration skills, and the ability to work with government stakeholders in a secure federal environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Appian development experience with records, interfaces, process models, business rules, and platform components.
• Experience integrating Appian with external systems via REST APIs, SOAP, JDBC, or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Active Secret clearance or higher preferred; relevant DoD or federal certifications are a plus.

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Consultant to support a mission-critical Department of Defense customer in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area. This role will support the design, development, integration, and enhancement of secure Appian applications supporting federal workflows and operational requirements. The ideal candidate has recent hands‑on Appian development experience, strong application integration skills, and the ability to work directly with technical teams and government stakeholders in a secure federal environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Appian applications, workflows, and business process solutions using record types, interfaces, process models, business rules, and related application components.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions, user stories, and application designs while contributing to overall solution architecture.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Appian and enterprise systems using REST APIs, SOAP, JDBC, databases, and other integration technologies.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, technical delivery teams, and government stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, testing, demonstrations, deployments, and ongoing application enhancements.
• Support development and delivery efforts within secure federal environments while ensuring compliance with customer security requirements.

Qualifications:

• Professional experience in software development, application development, and/or technical consulting.
• Hands‑on experience developing Appian applications, including record types, interfaces, process models, business rules, objects, and related platform components.
• Experience integrating Appian with external systems, APIs, databases, and enterprise applications using REST APIs, SOAP, JDBC, or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, software development methodologies, and object‑oriented programming concepts.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams and customer stakeholders.
• Active Secret clearance or higher preferred; experience supporting DoD or other federal customers, Appian certifications, Appian Data Fabric, AWS, and Security+, CISSP, or related certifications are a plus.

Compensations:

Salary Range: $155,00-$165,000 depending on experience
