Job summary

Jobtailor in Irving, TX seeks a QA/DevOps engineer to design and review CI/CD pipelines, implement automated tests, and leverage BDD/TDD approaches. You will analyze cloud options (AWS, GCP), apply DevOps best practices, and create REST API test scripts with Postman and SoapUI, plus SQL data handling.

Candidates should have 3+ years IT experience, master’s or bachelor’s with 5 years, and familiarity with GitLab and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent with IT experience; or Bachelor’s with 5 years IT experience.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and test/defect management tools.
• Proven familiarity with cloud services and API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
• Familiarity with GitLab and Azure DevOps; SQL for data setup and validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and review DevOps CI/CD pipelines using BDD/TDD approaches.
• Use automation to accelerate pipeline processes, scale environments, run reliable tests, and monitor the pipeline.
• Conduct feasibility analysis of cloud solutions (AWS, GCP) to identify best fit for client systems/applications.
• Apply DevOps best practices (automated acceptance testing, version control, continuous feedback) to streamline Agile SDLC and STLC.
• Create automation scripts for REST-API testing using Postman tool.
• Create data-driven SOAP UI projects and test Web Services (XML/SOAP and REST) using SoapUI.
• Write and execute SQL queries for functional test data maintenance.
• Virtualize and test SOA-based services including Web Services and REST Services.
• Use service virtualization needs to create VSIs using WSDL and record request/response pairs.
• Participate in Agile planning meetings, daily standups, grooming, and sprint demos.
• Analyze business requirements and design Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Estimates, Test Scenarios and Test Cases.
• Prepare Requirement Traceability Matrix to ensure test design coverage.
• Conduct functional test execution and reporting.
• Defect reporting, tracking, and coordination with development, POs, and project teams.
• May support industry groups such as Retail & Logistics, Automotive, Banking & Finance, Healthcare, Insurance, IT.

Responsibilities

• Design and review DevOps (CI/CT) pipeline developed using Behavior Driven Approach (BDD) and Test Driven Approach (TDD) technique/framework.
• Use automation to accelerate pipeline process, scale environments, run reliable tests, and monitor the pipeline.
• Conduct feasibility analysis of various cloud solutions i.e., AWS, GCP to identify the best fit for client’s systems/applications.
• Use DevOps best practices (automated acceptance testing, version control, continuous feedback etc.) to streamline Agile SDLC and STLC.
• Create automation script for REST-API testing using Postman tool.
• Create complete data driven SOAP UI projects and test Webservices/XML/SOAP and RESTful services using SoapUI tool.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in any occupation with IT experience, or related.
• Three (3) years of required IT, or related experience must include: Agile methodologies; Test and Defect Management Tools; Agile Management Tools; Cloud Computing Services; Postman; SoapUI; GitLab; Azure DevOps; SQL; Functional Testing of offline products.
• Alternate Education/Experience Requirement: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related and five (5) years of experience in any occupation with IT experience, or related. Must have skills listed above.
