Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Scheduler I or II to join our Solar group in Minnesota, with hybrid work at MN-HQ. You will oversee all planning and scheduling activities, working across staff levels, and driving proactive, confidential project planning in a dynamic environment.

Location is hybrid in MN, with up to 10% travel. The role supports both Senior Scheduler I and II based on experience, with pay ranges that reflect level and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with Asta Power Project, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project (Asta highly preferred).
• Strong planning, scheduling, and sequencing knowledge.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.
• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct scheduling efforts.
• Ensure corporate planning standards are implemented for all projects.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and superintendents.

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Scheduler I or II to join our Solar group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.The Senior Scheduler will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.

In this role you'll dive into proposals and contracts to produce effective and well-thought-out project plans, identifying risks, and planning for the unexpected.

Location: MN-HQ (hybrid)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities
• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities
• Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply
• Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team
• Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents
• Establish and nurture teamwork environment
• Ensure crews have resources and support
• Provide work direction and performance evaluations
• Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed
• Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities
• Implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at project site
• Manage open shop and union issues
• Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site:customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.
• Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
• Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Experience with Asta Power Project, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project (Asta highly preferred)
• Experience as a project engineer is desirable
• Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback
• Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software
• Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencing
• Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projects
• Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills
• Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout
• Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies
• Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules
• Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions
• Results-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services

Senior Scheduler I

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
• The base pay range for this role is $102,000 - $137,700.

Senior Scheduler II

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
• The base pay range for this role is $107,200 - $160,800.

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
