Job description

Sequence has been exclusively retained to recruit a Senior Construction Manager for one of Florida’s premier residential landscape and outdoor living design/build organizations.

This represents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced residential construction leader who enjoys overseeing complex projects, developing high-performing field teams, and delivering exceptional craftsmanship across distinctive residential environments.

Reporting to senior operational leadership, the Construction Manager, slated to be based in the organization’s Orlando, Florida operation supporting projects throughout the surrounding Central Florida region, will oversee the successful execution of multiple residential construction and outdoor living projects while coordinating field personnel, subcontractors, equipment, schedules, materials, and client communication.

This hybrid leadership role combines office-based planning and coordination with significant time in the field, providing hands‑on leadership across active construction projects while partnering closely with operations, design, estimating, project management, and executive leadership.

The successful individual will serve as an operational leader in the field, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to exceptionally high‑quality standards.

While direct landscape construction experience would be valuable, it is not required. The organization is particularly interested in individuals with transferable leadership experience from residential construction, remodeling, swimming pools, outdoor living, specialty structures, facilities improvements, hardscapes, masonry, and other project‑based residential construction environments.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys balancing field construction operations, project execution, workforce leadership, quality control, operational planning, and customer satisfaction while helping support the continued growth of a highly respected organization.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for day‑to‑day construction operations across multiple residential construction, landscape, and outdoor living projects.
  • Direct field personnel, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment resources to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Coordinate project schedules, manpower planning, equipment deployment, material procurement, permitting activities, inspections, and subcontractor performance.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation to ensure successful field execution.
  • Monitor project quality, production, labor utilization, budgets, schedules, and overall project performance.
  • Identify construction and operational challenges early while implementing practical solutions that maintain project momentum.
  • Partner closely with estimating, design, project management, purchasing, and executive leadership throughout each phase of project delivery.
  • Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients regarding project progress, scheduling, field activities, and changing site conditions.
  • Coordinate the work of multiple construction disciplines and specialty trades across active residential jobsites.
  • Foster accountability for safety, craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and develop foremen, project leaders, and field personnel while supporting workforce planning and long‑term team development.
  • Participate in project forecasting, operational planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and process development.

  • Proven leadership, coaching, communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Passion for craftsmanship, accountability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

While quality craftsmanship, operational performance, and customer satisfaction remain central to the business, leadership believes long‑term success is built through trust, accountability, teamwork, and genuine relationships. Employees are encouraged to take ownership, communicate openly, support one another, and approach every project with professionalism and pride.

The leadership team values individuals who lead by example, remain visible in the field, develop those around them, and approach challenges with a practical, solutions‑oriented mindset. If you enjoy building outstanding residential projects while helping build outstanding teams, this represents an exceptional long‑term leadership opportunity.

This philosophy extends beyond the workplace and into how employees are rewarded for their contributions. In addition to a competitive base salary and performance incentives based on profits of successful projects (lucrative potential upside in addition to base), the organization offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and other valuable employee benefits.
