Job summary

ABEL Construction Company in Lexington, KY is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to provide overall leadership for complex projects. The ideal candidate will drive project objectives, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver quality results.

The role requires 10+ years of field experience, a four-year engineering or construction degree, and strong knowledge of estimating and construction management.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or construction degree preferred.
• 10+ years of field experience.
• Design Build experience a plus.
• Advanced management or technical training preferred; estimating and construction management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of estimating, project management and construction management.
• Strong organizational, supervision and decision making/problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore and Timberline/Sage knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers.
• Enforces company and project policies.
• Ensures all facets of the project are constructed per contract and design.
• Manages budget and financial reporting throughout the project.
• Updates schedule with input from managers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

Join Our Team as a Senior Project Manager!

ABEL Construction Company is looking for a skilled Senior Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and are ready to contribute to exciting projects, we’d love to meet you!

The Senior Project Manager provides overall leadership and administration to the construction project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. This position is the main liaison between the customer and ABEL Construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers
• Enforces company and project policies
• Ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with contract and design
• Manages budget and financial reporting throughout the project
• Updates schedule with support of subordinate managers, supervisors, and subcontractors
• Performs all functions and responsibilities in partnership with the company’s culture, corporate vision, ethics, and code of conduct
• Acts as company representative to develop new business opportunities and relationship with new and existing clients
• Provides leadership to the project team
• Overall coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
• Manages and helps enforce Safety on a daily basis
• Reviews new project opportunities and establishes estimates
• Oversight of self‑performed operations

What We’re Looking For

• Four-year engineering or construction degree preferred
• 10 plus years of field experience
• Design Build experience a plus
• Advanced management or technical training preferred. Extensive experience in similar facility construction estimating and related functions
• Thorough knowledge of estimating, project management and construction management
• Excellent organizational, supervision and decision making/problem solving skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. HH2, ACC, Procore and Timberline/Sage knowledge a plus

Location: This position requires the candidate to work on‑site in the Lexington, KY area.
