Job summary

Construction Project Manager position at Cumming Group in Bethesda, MD, is a client-facing role within our expanding Program & Project Management team. You will work on higher-education projects, applying our integrated approach that combines design, scheduling, and cost management to deliver value.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in a related field and 5+ years of PM experience on higher-education projects, with strong communication, analytical, and leadership abilities to guide project teams

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in construction project management on higher education projects is highly preferred.
• Firm knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequences, and drawings/specifications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and business presentation skills.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management across organizational lines.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to build relationships across organizational lines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and management of project strategic plans and program initiatives.
• Act as Owner’s Advisor with primary responsibility for all phases of project.
• Manage overall planning, design, and construction process and coordinate all activities.
• Guide Clients through design and construction, focusing on ownership priorities in design and logistics.
• Coordinate with Architect, Contractor, and project team to meet objectives and resolve issues.
• Lead all contract-related activities: negotiating, drafting and executing.
• Manage overall project budget and schedule; report to client and team.
• Lead proposal reviews, leveling, analysis and presentation to Client.
