Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Observe work to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform standard testing of materials.
• Maintain daily log of activities and clear reports.
• Examine workmanship for conformity to specifications.
• Maintain daily logs and prepare clear reports.
• Prepare sketches correlating with testing/inspection sites.

Description

Advance Testing Company, a SOCOTEC Company, is currently seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician. The position would be based out of Advance Testing’s Newtown, CT office.

Advance Testing Company performs testing and inspection of materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, asphalt, fireproofing and firestopping. Typical assignments include projects related to construction of roads, bridges, airports, tunnels, commercial and industrial buildings, schools, government and military sites, and material fabrication and production facilities.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials used conform to approved drawings and specifications.
• Perform standard testing of materials.
• Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
• Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and complete clear, accurate reports daily.
• Prepare sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites.
• Other related duties may be assigned.

• Strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocols
• Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
• Must be able to travel and to perform site visits
• Requires a valid, clean driver's license
